So, the festive feeling of Christmas and New Year has drawn to a close and the dreaded January lull begins. What’s there to look forward to? Let’s be honest, 2020 has been a pretty deflating year for us all – there’s been a continuous uncertainty around what we can and cannot do.
Let’s start 2021 with some positivity and put something in the diary to look forward to. Here’s our top pick for things to do in Cardiff in January – so get booking and enjoy!
Cardiff’s Glee Club
Treat yo’self to an evening of award-winning comedy at Cardiff’s Glee Club. Situated in Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, this venue is known for its epically hilarious shows, having brought Alan Carr, Michael McIntyre, Sarah Millican, Ross Noble and Rhod Gilbert to their stage over the years.
Preparing to be back up and running again in January 2021, this venue has a popular reputation for bringing their own brand of comedy shows on a Friday and Saturday night. On both nights, the club hosts four superb stand-up comedians from the national and international comedy circuit to bring you an unforgettable night.
To make your night that little bit more enjoyable, the Glee Club offers food deals on both evenings. On the Friday, if you choose the food-inclusive offer, your ticket includes a choice of chicken katsu curry, fish and chips, or a vegan BBQ jackfruit burger for £25.25. On the Saturday, grab yourself a ticket and handmade pizza for £29.20! Find more on food at the Glee Club here.
Please note: Friday Night Comedy (18+) and Saturday Night Comedy (18+) are socially distanced. Tickets are only available in specified group sizes and must be booked in advance. You can find Covid-safety guidelines here.
If you’re staying with us in Cardiff during the week, you can still join in on the comedy action!
Thursday Night Pie Face Comedy (16+) will help perk up your week with three stand out, stand up comedians, alongside some seriously delicious food from the pie masters at Pieminister – all for just £17.50! You can get your taste-buds tingling by viewing their pie menu here.
So, come on down to the capital and get ready to laugh your socks off – a perfectly positive way to start 2021! All tickets must be booked in advance which you can do here (we recommend booking ASAP as the shows are pretty popular)!
